If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, you should first contact me at the email address listed above.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to our users and to improve our content. The type of information we collect depends on how you interact with the site.

a) Information You Voluntarily Provide to Us

  • Email Correspondence: When you contact me via ra1714130@gmail.com, I collect your email address and any information you choose to include in the body of the email. This information is used strictly to respond to your inquiry. I do not add your email address to a marketing newsletter list without your explicit permission.

  • Comments (If Enabled in Future): If we enable comments on blog posts in the future, we will collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

b) Information Collected Automatically (Log Data & Cookies)

Whenever you visit The Bag Bar, we automatically collect information that your browser sends to us. This is standard practice for virtually all websites and is essential for the operation of services like Google AdSense and Analytics.

This Log Data may include:

  • Your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address.

  • Browser type and version.

  • The pages of our Website that you visit.

  • The time and date of your visit.

  • The time spent on those pages.

  • Unique device identifiers.

  • Referring/exit pages.

We use a technology called "Cookies" to collect this information. See Section 5 for a detailed explanation of our Cookie Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website: To ensure the site loads correctly and to fix technical errors.

  • Improve, personalize, and expand our website: To understand which bag reviews are most popular so I (Ahmed Ali) can write more content that you actually want to read.

  • Understand and analyze how you use our website: Using tools like Google Analytics to see how many people visited a review of a leather tote vs. a nylon backpack.

  • Communicate with you: To respond to your emails and customer service requests sent to ra1714130@gmail.com.

  • Display Advertisements: To serve Google AdSense ads that help keep the lights on. This involves using cookies to show you ads that might be more relevant to your interests.

  • Affiliate Link Tracking: To track clicks on Amazon and AliExpress links so that those companies can properly credit a commission to The Bag Bar if a purchase is made.

  • Security: To find and prevent fraud or spam.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the information we collect and the specific context in which we collect it.

The Bag Bar may process your personal information because:

  • We need to perform a contract with you (e.g., responding to a specific service request).

  • You have given us permission to do so (e.g., you sent us an email).

  • The processing is in our legitimate interests (e.g., analyzing site traffic to improve our reviews) and it's not overridden by your rights.

  • To comply with the law.

5. Cookies, Web Beacons, and AdSense

The Bag Bar uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

a) Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the website to function (e.g., session cookies).

  • Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics to track information about how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects your IP address, but no other personally identifiable information.

  • Advertising Cookies: We use Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

b) Google DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is a third-party vendor on our site. It uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to thebagbar.shop and other sites on the internet. However, visitors may choose to decline the use of DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network Privacy Policy at the following URL: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

c) Managing Cookies

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. More detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found at the browsers' respective websites.
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit.

6. Third-Party Services & Affiliate Disclosure

We share data with the following third-party vendors to operate the core functions of the site. We do not sell your personal data to data brokers.

a) Google AdSense & Analytics

We use Google services for advertising and traffic analysis. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle your data:

You can opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings in your Google account or by visiting www.aboutads.info.

b) Amazon Associates Program

The Bag Bar is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link on our site, a temporary cookie is placed on your browser by Amazon. This cookie tracks that you came from The Bag Bar and ensures that if you make a purchase within 24 hours (or add to cart for up to 90 days), we receive a small commission. We do not see your credit card information or purchase details. We only see aggregated reports that a sale occurred.

c) AliExpress Affiliate Program

Similarly, we participate in the AliExpress Portals Affiliate Program. When you click a link to AliExpress, a cookie is placed to track the referral.

d) Pinterest

We maintain a presence on Pinterest (thebagbarpins). Please note that Pinterest has its own privacy policies independent of The Bag Bar. We do not control how Pinterest collects data when you visit our profile there.

Our Service may contain links to other sites (Amazon, AliExpress, etc.). If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
